    Storyline:大学毕业之后，马莉（巩俐 饰）只身一人来到繁华的大都市香港，希望能够在这里开拓一片属于自己的新天地。马莉没有香港的身份证，因此在职场上屡屡受挫，某日，她结识了珠宝店的少东家彼得（林俊贤 饰），两人坠入了爱河。彼得一直承诺会给马莉一个名分，但行动上却迟迟没有动静，甚至不愿意讲马莉介绍给家人认识。　　一次偶然中，马莉结识了自小生活在英国的商人王国威（钟镇涛 饰），一来二去之间两人成了老相识，马莉常常向王国威倾诉心中的苦楚，而王国威则耐心开解。随着时间的推移，马莉和王国威之间渐渐产生了真挚的感情。王国威邀请马莉到自己身边做自己的助手，哪知道遭到了彼得的严词拒绝。
